They've lost the source code

According to the BBC this morning, Downing Street said it would be "difficult and complex" to change the law such that Prince William and Kate Middleton's first offspring would be first in line for the throne regardless of sex. (Currently it's the first boy). It doesn't sound like such a complex and difficult change to the wording......
